After 20 years of serving our famous Sicilian style pizza from the window of the historic St. Charles Building on east 6th Street (formerly Pecan Street), Roppolo's has become a downtown Austin icon.

Our pies are made fresh daily with the finest ingredients and served by our friendly staff.

I'm Marc Roppolo, owner and founder of Roppolo's Pizzeria. I opened our first location in Austin, Texas in 1989 after moving from New York where I was trained to make pizza by a fellow Sicilian Pizza Master, Armando Spavenda. For two years, he taught me the value of using the freshest ingredients and the unique methods of creating the distinctive Sicilian style pizzas you will enjoy being served in my restaurant today.

The service you experience at Roppolo's, whether dining here or enjoying a catered event or private party will also be outstanding. My grandparents were immigrants from Sicily. When they came to New York, they opened a grocery store where I worked from the ages of 8 to 18 (with a daily wage of 50 cents – later raised to $1.00). Under their watchful and caring instruction, I learned a disciplined worth ethic and discovered a passionate desire to treat customers with the utmost care and respect. By the time I was 15, I had been the butcher, cashier, product purchaser and chauffer to customers who needed a ride home after purchasing their groceries with in-store credit accounts (not the plastic cards we have today.)

The history and respect for old world traditions passed along to me from my family and friends shapes Roppolo's Pizzeria today. The 100-year-old meat blocks located in our restaurant dining area remind us daily of our responsibility and privilege to serve you the best Pizzeria experience you have ever had.
